Richmond Park and North Kingston Conservatives are delighted to welcome Free Speech Union General Secretary and renound journalist Toby Young for an in depth conversation about the state of free speech in the UK and how it can be better protected.
Toby Young is the former Director of the New Schools Network, a free schools charity. In addition to being the Founder and General Secretary of the Free Speech Union, he is an associate editor of the Spectator, the Critic and Quillette. He writes in The Spectator weekly and has written for The Times, co-founding the London magazine Modern Review. His 2001 memoir How to Lose Friends & Alienate People details his employment at Vanity Fair. The Free Speech Union is a non-partisan, membership public interest body that stands up for the speech rights of its members.
Jennifer Powers is Deputy Chair Political for Richmond Park and a council candidate in Mortlake and Barnes Common. She works in public policy, currently as Director of Public Affairs for the Free Speech Union She is also an advisor to tech policy consultancy Taso and teaches policymaking apprenticeships to junior civil servants.
